994,791. Dobby drives. G.K.METZLER. Oct. 2, 1961, No. 35523/61. Heading D1E. The draw knives of a dobby are operated by a lever 36 oscillated about its pivot 35 by a crank 28. The crank is coupled by a connecting rod 27 to a lever 25, from which the motion is transmitted to the lever 35 by a connecting rod 34. The timing of the shedding can be altered by moving the crank pin 28 along a slot 29. The open-shed dwell can be altered by adjusting the length of the connecting rod 27, the connecting rod 34 being then adjusted to keep the total length of the two rods constant. Instead of being pivoted to the lever 25, the connecting rods may be pivoted to the top and bottom of a link sliding in vertical guides.
