Abstract

950,134. Rolling. BIRDSBORO CORPORATION. Dec. 28, 1961 [May 5, 1961], No. 46466/61. Heading B3M. A cooling bed having stationary and movable notched bars 22 and 25, comprises a beam 26, supporting the movable bars 25, which runs on rollers 28 fixed to a cross-beam 31 to give horizontal motion to the bars, and levers 33 which are attached to the ends of the cross-beam 31 and give vertical movement to the beam and bars 25. Horizontal motion of the beam 26 is by way of rods 47 attached to the beam and which are pivotally attached to a lever 44 mounted on a fixed vertical pivot 43, a further arm 50 attached to the lever 44, and a rod 52 which is reciprocatingly driven from an eccentric. Vertical motion of the beam is by way of counterbalanced levers 33 which are attached to the cross-beam 31 at 32, are pivoted at 34, and are reciprocatingly driven by rods 42. Variations in the lengths of the lever arms in the linkages enables different elliptical paths for the bars 25 to be obtained.
