Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy of forging finish size and make the device usable for forging works of a wide range by enabling pressing stroke to be suitabley adjusted according to the kinds of forging works.
CONSTITUTION: Horizontal forging heads 20, 21 repeat advancing and retreating at a fixed stroke by the operation of oscillating links 39, 41 and the pulling back force of cushion cylinders. The oscillating links 39, 41 are connected at one end to the horizontal forging heads 20, 21 by way of connecting rods and are pivotally fitted at the other end with pitmans 42, 49 by way pins 59, 60. As the eccentric mechanism for reciprocatively moving the pitmens 42, 49, the position of an outside eccentric shaft 51 with respect to an inside eccentric shaft 50 is suitably selected, whereby an arbitrary oscillation amount may be given to the oscillating link 41 and the stroke of the horizontal forging heads 20, 21 may be selected freely in accordance with forging works.
