Abstract

1,177,400. Dobbies. STAUBLI & CO. GEB. 28 Sept., 1967 [7 Oct., 1966], No. 44212/67. Heading D1E. In a dobby as disclosed in Specification 1026389, in which pusher rails 12a, 12b operate baulks 9 carrying hooks 10a, 10b engageable by arrester hooks 18a, 18b, lost motion is provided between the arrester hooks and their tails 17a, 17b which are acted on by the pattern mechanism; the arrester hooks can therefore be positioned in the path of the hooks on the baulk before the pusher rails reach the end of their stroke, the lost motion allowing the hooks to snap into engagement under the action of springs 24a, 24b. As shown, the tails 17a, 17b are operated by pegs on opposite sides of the pattern chain 16. In another arrangement, the tail 17a points vertically downwards and the tail 17b points upwards, so that they are side-by-side and are operated by pegs on the same lag; alternatively, they may be operated by a paper pattern through pusher needles.
