Abstract
907,402. Two-for-one twisting apparatus. SCRAGG & SONS Ltd., ERNEST. July 21, 1961 [April 22, 1960], No. 14136/60. Class 120 (2). For threading-up a two-for-one twister, a guide-member 17, Fig. 1, is attached to the central spindle 11 and is provided with a channel 16 communicating with the offset aperture by which the yarn leaves the spindle, which channel, by rotating the member 17, can be brought into register with a suction-nozzle 25. The nozzle 25, Fig. 2, is connected by a bayonet-joint to a socket member 27 in a suction-conduit 26. The member 27 is normally held centrally of the aperture by which it enters conduit 26 by a spring 28 which also maintains a flap 34 closed, the socket being prevented from being ejected by the circumferential rib shown. The arms of nozzle 25 are bent as shown, so that when it is inserted in the socket the latter is tilted and flap 34 is opened by the protruding end of the nozzle. At the other end, the nozzle has a spring-urged slidable sleeve 32, and a knurled wheel 30 urged by spring 28 into engagement with the surface of guide member 17. When wheel 30 is rotated by hand, member 17 may be rotated to until channel 16 registers with the nozzle: the thread fed into the top of the spindle shaft is drawn into the channel and is stopped by a grating 33.
