Abstract
591,919. Twist tubes for preparing and spinning machines. CASABLANCAS HIGH DRAFT CO., Ltd., and NOGUERA, J. April 13, 1945, No. 9300. [Class 120 (ii)] A false twist tube for textile preparing and spinning machines, and more particularly for use in drafting heads, is provided with an abutment 12, over which a strand 13 passes on its way to the tube outlet 11, and a spring 14, or other resilient means, to bear upon the strand between the abutment and the outlet, whereby the strand is caused to follow a zig-zag path. The spring 14 is preferably almost as long as the tube, to which it is fastened at its upper end. Its free end is formed to present a concave surface to the strand and is outwardly flared so that its edges extend through cut-out portions in the body of the tube where they may be deflected manually for threading. One of the cut-out portions opens into a slot in the tube to further facilitate threading.
