688,209. Tube carrying yarn for weaving. BARRACLOUGH, W., and BUTTERFIELD, J. July 27, 1950 [July 21, 1949], No. 19190/49. Classes 120(iii) and 142(iii) A tube carrying a cheese of cross-wound yarn 2 for use in weaving shuttles has the yarn carrying portion 1 of the tube of uniform diameter and provided with a disc or annular flange 4 of larger diameter than the yarn carrying portion of the tube on or adjacent the end from which the yarn is to be drawn off, the perimeter of the disc or annular flange acting as a guide for the yarn during weaving. Preferably the tube has a similar disc or flange at the other end adapted to engage in a slot or recess 5 in the shuttle for the purpose of retaining the tube on the shuttle peg.
