Abstract

1,094,071. Two-for-one twist apparatus. BARMER MASCHINEN FABRIK A.G. Jan. 14, 1965 [Jan. 17, 1964], No. 1702/65. Heading DID. In two-for-one twisting apparatus, the yarnstorage device is constituted by the inner surface of a jacket rotatable with and concentric with the spindle, and a guide is provided to conduct the yarn from the point where it leaves the spindle-core to the surface. As shown, the surface is cup-shaped and extends from ribs 3 on the spindle. The guide is a tube 10 extending from the spindle-outlet to the wall, and having, if desired, a curved end to direct the yarn on to the surface obliquely and upwardly. A balloon-restrictor 11 is provided. In other forms, (a) the guide is an eyelet; (b) the surface is constituted by a roughened section of the inside wall of the balloon-restrictor, a protective casing being then placed outside the restrictor; and (c) the surface may be convex or concave to control the pitch of the stored yarn.
