Abstract

902,706. Guiding means for yarn. T.M.M. (RESEARCH) Ltd. Sept. 21, 1960 [Oct. 9, 1959], No. 34319/59. Class 120 (2). A yarn-guiding member for a textile ring-spinning machine comprises a body adapted to be mounted on the tip of a spindle and to be freely rotatable about the spindle axis, the body having an entry hole 212 in its upper end at a point coincident with the spindle axis and a slot 211, 213, 161 extending from the entry hole to a point in the side of the body axially spaced from the entry hole. As shown in Fig. 2, the slot has a radial portion 211, a circumferential portion 213 and a downwardlyextending portion 161. The body is mounted on a pin 17 rotatably carried on bearings in a sleeve which is a sliding fit in a recess formed in the tip of the spindle (see Fig. 1, not shown). In the Provisional Specification, a guide is described having rotatably adjustable upper and lower parts and an intermediate member disposed between the entry and exit notches about which the yarn may be wrapped.
