Abstract
A non-magnetic, deep-well drill rod is made from an austentic alloy having the following percentage composition: .C.0.01-0.25 .Si.0.1-1 .Mn.12-25 .Cr.10-20 .Ni.0-5 .Mo.0-1 .N.0.05-0.5 .Fe.the balance, which is cold worked to raise its yield point, at least in the region of its ends, 10 70 kg/mm2. The rod is bored after cold working. The alloy may contain the usual additions such as W, Ti, Ta, Nb, B, V, Cu and Co.
