902,042. Hatch covers. SJOSTROM, R. V. A. April 19, 1960 [April 18, 1959], No. 13691/60. Class 113. A ship's hatch cover comprises paired sections 1 and 2 which are movable along the hatch coaming to a stowage at one end of the hatchway and which are provided with catching members 3 and 4 adopted to co-operate with pivot members 5 and 6 forming the stowage support. The members 3, 4, 5 and 6 are arranged so that moving parts only co-operate during the turning movement of the pertaining section to the stowed position. The paired sections are releasably connected and the section of each pair which is closest to the stowage support is longer than the other section of the same pair, the catching members being located so that the leading edges of the sections to which they are joined will be swung below the upper edge of the hatch covering when the appropriate section is brought to the vertical position.
