Abstract
A nickel based alloy contains .Co.3-7% .Cr.13-17% .Mo.3-7% .C.0,1-0,2% and Ti and Al in such amounts that the ratio Ti/Al is from 0,1-3,0 and the total (Ti + Al) lies between (7 + 2/3 Ti/Al) and 6 + 2/3 Ti/Al. Optional elements can also be added as follows: .Si.0-0,5% .Mn.0-0,5% .Fe.0-1,0% .B.0-0,05% .Zr.0-0,2% The alloy may be vacuum melted or vacuum treated at 1400-1600 DEG C. and subsequent casting may be in air or under vacuum. The wrought alloy may be precipitation hardened by solution heating at 1150-1250 DEG C. followed by ageing at 700-1100 DEG C.
