Abstract
1,206,666. Corrosion resistant Fe-Cr-Ni alloy. WALLACE-MURRAY CORP. May 9, 1968 [June 14, 1967], No.21928/68. Heading C7A. An austenitic alloy having a corrosion rate in molten lead oxide of less than 20 gms/dm<2>, comprises:- N up to 0À3% Si up to 0À6% and Ti up to 6% the balance, apart from impurities, being Fe, the Ni content being at least 30% for a Si content of 0À1% or more or a Mn content of 5% or more. The alloys may be aged at 1300‹ F. in the cast state or solution treated at 2100‹ F. followed by ageing at 1300‹F. in the wrought state. The alloys may be used for I. C. engine valves and valve parts.
