Abstract
1289301 Copper based alloys LANGLEY ALLOYS Ltd 21 Jan 1970 [11 Nov 1968] 53325/68 Heading C7A An alloy comprises by weight Ni 7-20% Al 1-3À5% Mn 8À5-13% Fe 2-6À5% Cr 0-1% Cu balance and is such that 3 x Al% + Mn% = 13-21 preferably 15-18 and 3 x Al% + Ni% = 13-24 preferably 15-21. The alloys may be heat treated at 410-550‹C. and air cooled and solution treated at 1000‹C. and water quenched. Comparitive examples are given of alloys outside the above range. The alloys may be used for sea water contacting pumps, valves and heat exchanges.
