Abstract
Alloys suitable for forming by casting parts such as turbine blades which are subjected to stress at high temperatures have compositions within the following range in per cent by weight:-Cr 7.5-15.0; Co 5.0-40.0; Ti plus Al 7.0-9.0; C 0.05-0.5; Mo 0-15.0; Si 0-0.8; Mn 0-1.0; Fe 0-10.0; Zr 0-0.2; W 0-5.0; Nb and/or Ta 0-3.0. Ni and impurities the balance, the ratio Ti/Al being from 0.6 to 1.4. The alloys may also include B 0.005-0.1, in which case the Ti plus Al content may be as high as 10.5.
