Abstract

An alloy, which is resistant to creep and oxidation at high temperatures and is particularly suitable for the precision casting of engine parts such as gas turbine blades, contains 10-35 per cent. Cr, 10-50 per cent. Co, 8-15 per cent. Mo, 2-7 per cent. W, the Mo + W being 10-20 per cent., 0.2-0.8 per cent. C, 0.01-0.1 per cent. B, the balance, except for impurities, being Ni of at least 15 per cent. The alloy may also contain up to a total of 20 per cent. of one or more of up to the following percentages of elements: Fe 16, Zr 0.2, Si 1-2, Mn 3, Ca 0.1, N 0.5, Nb 5, Ti 5, V 5, Al 2, Cu 5, Mg 0.5 and Th 0.5. According to the Provisional Specification the B content may be omitted.
