Abstract

An alloy possessing high creep strength at 400-550 DEG C. has the following percentage composition by weight: .Al 2.- 4 .Mo 0.5.- 3 .Si 0.25.- 0.75 .Sn 4.- 8 .Zr 3.- 7 .Ti the balance.. The alloy may also include up to 3% in total of Fe, Co, Ni, Cr, Mn, V, Be, B, Nb, Sb, Ta, W, Bi and may be solution treated at 1000 DEG C. for 1/2 hour, air cooled and aged at 550 DEG C. (or in one example 500 DEG C.) for 24 hours.
