Abstract

878,615. Electric storage heaters. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Jan. 26, 1960 [Jan. 26, 1959], No. 2752/59. Class 39(3). In a storage heater for heating rooms, the casing 1 is disposed in heat transfer relationship on three faces with stacks o f channelled concrete heat storage bricks 2; adjacent stacks have their channels facing so that a stream of fluid will circulate through the channels containing a former 5 holding resistance wires 4, and past the fourth face of the casing to increase the heat transfer from the bricks. The flow of the fluid is regulated by damper 9, and in the case where the fluid is air, a fan may be incorporated in the duct. The duct is entirely closed and preferably all contained inside the casing, which may be of sheet steel.
