Abstract

872,946. Gear pumps. TOYODA, S., and KIMIJIMA, T. Nov. 20, 1957, No. 36219/57. Class 110 (2). The end plates 3, 3<SP>1</SP> of a gear pump are provided with circular grooves 7, 7<SP>1</SP> respectively which are connected by radial passages, see also Fig. 2 (not shown), to the delivery side of the pump. The grooves 7, 7<SP>1</SP> may constitute arcuate grooves, see Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). The bearings 10, 11 and 14, 15 are respectively connected to the grooves 7, 7<SP>1</SP> by passages 38, 39 and 16, 17 arranged as shown and the outer ends 18, 19, 20, 21 of said bearings are connected to a valve opening 22 having a control valve 23, the valve chamber 24 being connected to the suction side of the pump through a port 25.
