Abstract

825,524. Rotary pumps. N.G.N. ELECTRICAL Ltd. March 5, 1956 [March 4, 1955; Dec. 9, 1955], Nos. 6405/55 and 35386/55. Class 110 (2). A rotary vacuum pump of the outwardlysliding abutment type (Fig. 1), is provided with an inlet I, a manually-adjustable valve-controlled outlet port O, a vane A which is adapted to extend through the casing of the pump and, if desired, an oil bath. The valve member P may be made of steel, synthetic resin or steel provided with a synthetic rubber facing. In a modification, Fig. 3, the discharge valve consists of a sheet of synthetic rubber which is held against the casing 11 by a plate 25 having a central aperture. The pump has an oil inlet 31 controlled by a regulating valve 32. A valve-controlled air inlet is disposed in the wall of the oil bath and opens into the pump casing close to the discharge port 15. Recesses in the bearings of the pump communicate with the oil bath (see Fig. 4, not shown). Specifications 825,526 and 825,527, [Group XXIX], are referred to.
