Abstract

771,840. Rotary and centrifugal pumps. JONES, J. Dec. 12, 1955 [Dec. 14, 1954], No. 36127/54. Classes 110 (1) and 110 (2). In a rotary pump of the inclined disc type having an axially disposed inlet duct and a peripherally disposed outlet duct 6, movement of the disc 1 is effected by a series of electromagnets 7. The disc is made of soft iron and may be encased in a corrosion resisting plastic sheath or a thin stainless steel sheath whilst the casing is made of brass or plastic material. The pump may have a single inlet duct or opposed inlet ducts 4, 5 as shown and the disc may be provided with a central bearing and need not be annular.
