1289446 Bearings COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE 20 April 1971 [29 May 1970] 10229/71 Addition to 1175465 Heading F2A An hydrodynamic fluid bearing comprises a bush 20 with a smooth bore enclosing a shaft 42, the outer surface of which contains troughs 40 equispaced about its axis, and a resilient diaphragm 28 connected between the bush and an outer casing, the elasticity of which diaphragm centres the bush in the casing and pulls a radially - extending bearing surface 24 on the bush into contact with a corresponding surface 16 on the casing. The surfaces 24, 16 are made of P.T.F.E. and aluminium alloy respectively.
