918,999. Stuffing-box substitutes. DRONNINGBORG MASKINFABRIK A.S. Dec. 13, 1960 [Dec. 15, 1959], No. 42831/60. Class 122 (5). An axle hub bearing 2, 3 is sealed by a flexible disc 9 fixed to and rotatable with the axle 4 and bearing at its outer peripheral portion against a conical surface 11 on the hub 1. The disc 11, which is planar in its free condition, is bevelled at its outer edge 12 and has an enlargement 10 at its inner periphery tightly held in a groove 8 in a bush 7 fixed to the axle. A labyrinth gland 6 is provided between the bearing 3 and the bush 7.
