Abstract

824,802. Rotary pumps. DESCHAMPS, D. J. April 12, 1957 [April 25, 1956], No. 11979/57. Class 110 (2). A rotor for a pump as disclosed in Specification 818,529 is provided with slots 44 which may be disposed in radial planes or planes parallel thereto, pressure-balancing passages 46, 47 being also provided as shown. The rotor is disposed in the pump chamber with its axis parallel thereto. The cylindrical surface of the pump cavity being at a maximum distance from the rotor at the closing edge of the inlet port as shown. The vanes 75 are in the form of flat plates and are each furnished with a bevelled nose 76 having a rounded portion 77. For full details of the shape of the pump cavity the Specification should be referred to. Specification 820,648 also is referred to.
