Abstract

846,119. Rotary pumps and motors. VICKERS Inc. Dec. 10, 1956, No. 37597/56. Class 110 (2). A rotary pump or motor of the outwardly sliding vane and multiple abutment type comprises a rotor 44 which is mounted between end plates 16, 34 and is provided with stepped vanes 64 sliding in like slots 66 having fluid pressure chambers 78, 84. The plate 34 is provided with ports 86, 88 connected to the outlet passage 30 of the pump by passages 92, 90 respectively. Slots 94 extend from the periphery of the rotor to the chambers 78. The plate 16 is provided with inlet ports such as 27 extending therethrough together with auxiliary inlet ports such as 106 whilst the plate 34 is provided with corresponding inlet and auxiliary inlet ports such as 102, 114 for inlet filling and balancing purposes.
