Abstract

839,149. Rotary compressors. SOC. NOUVELLE DIENY & LUCAS. Jan. 30, 1958 [Feb. 1, 1957; Dec. 21, 1957], No. 3127/58. Class 110 (2). A rotary compressor of the outwardly sliding vane-type, Fig. 1, is provided with a series of secondary inlet orifices 11 which are disposed somewhat beyond the primary inlet orifice and controlled by a plunger, (see Fig. 3, not shown). The rotor is provided with a slot adapted to register with the orifices 11 and thereby exert a negative pressure on a diaphragm 19 to draw secondary fluid into the working chamber of the compressor by way of passages 25, 21, 18, 16, 12 and 11. The orifices 11 may be controlled by a rotatable disc-type metering device (see Figs. 5 and 6, not shown), or by a rotatable valve member, (see Figs. 7 and 8, not shown). In a modification, Fig. 9 (not shown), the secondary inlet orifices communicate with a zone which is at no time in communication with the inlet or the outlet conduits. In a final modification, Fig. 10, the rotor is formed with slots 10, 10a, in its side walls adapted to communicate with opposed secondary inlet orifices which are arranged as shown and provided, if desired, with a monometricplunger control (see Fig. 11, not shown).
