Abstract

820,027. Stamping. RADIATION Ltd. Oct. 1, 1956 [June 8, 1956], No. 17744/56. Class 83 (4). Means for shaping sheet metal articles by fluid pressure comprises a die b, a part c shaped to form a chamber f to which pressure fluid can be admitted, a bolster g contained in said chamber, a clamping ring j placed between the bolster and the die b and forming with the sheet a to be shaped a second chamber d to which pressure fluid can be admitted, and a valve n for controlling the admission of pressure fluid successively to the chambers d and f. The bolster g is supported in its lowermost position by projections i on the part c. Leakage of pressure fluid is prevented by a sealing ring e. A second clamping ring k may also be provided and the pressure fluid is supplied to chambers d, f by a pump m through the piston valve n.
