868,260. Air blast circuit breakers. ZAVODY V.I. LENINA PLZEN, NARODNI PODNIK. Oct. 14, 1958 [Oct. 14, 1957], No. 32740/58. Class 38 (5). The movable contact nozzle 1 of a circuit-breaker has a number of nozzles 3 which vent through the ports 11 when the nozzle is moved into its upper, open-circuit position, thus allowing compressed air in the circuitbus-bar case to extinguish the arc. A coacting slide 4 is moved downwardly by the pressure of the escaping air acting on the piston 5 and the skirt 4 blocks the vents 7. When the contacts close and cut off the air blast, the vents 7 allow the piston 5 to retract quickly from the position in which the slide 6 blocks nuts 3 of nozzle 1.
