Abstract

847,867. Air-blast switches. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. March 14, 1958 [March 15, 1957], No. 8214/58. Class 38 (5). Should an arc persist in an air-blast switch, the contacts are automatically reclosed by means of a piston 16 which is moved against the bias of a spring 17, by the resulting increase in pressure in the compressedair container 1, to push back a catch 19 and release a contact-carrying rod 20. The downward movement of the rod 20 under the bias of a spring 21 closes contacts 10, 22 to complete a circuit for the " closing " solenoid of a control valve, Fig. 1 (not shown) and opens contacts 11, 23 to open the circuit for the " opening " solenoid of the valve.
