872,722. Gas-blast switches. ZARODY, V. I. LENINA PLZEN, NARODNI PODNIK. Oct. 14, 1958 [Oct. 14, 1957], No. 32738/58. Class 38 (5). A circuit-breaker with a fixed nozzle contact through the bore 2 of which compressed gas escapes to extinguish an arc, has outlets 1 for the gas and a differential piston number 4 which descends under the gas pressure until openings 8 partially obturate the outlets 1 and thus restrict the flow of gas. A spring- loaded valve 6 releases the pressure on the pistons member when the contacts reclose so that the piston quickly returns to its spring- loaded position.
