551,222. Gas-blast switches. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and TRENCHAM, H. Sept. 29, 1941, No. 12577. [Class 38 (v)] A pneumatically-actuated, gas-blast switch, for example of the open-jet kind employing extinguishing heads as in Specification 483,996, has means such as a piston-valve 9 on the movable contact 1, for stopping the blast through aperture 6 in the fully-open position, an aperture 10 in the valve allowing air to continue to hold back the operating-piston 3 against the spring 11.
