Abstract
A master alloy suitable for addition to titanium to form titanium-base alloys which preferably have a mixed alpha-beta structure, has a composition within the following range, in per cent by weight. .Ta.10-35 .Nb.10-35 .Al.20-75 .Fe.0-3.0 .Si.0-1.5 .Mn.0-7.0 .O, H and N.0-0.5 with incidental impurities The master alloy may be produced by reducing fused columbo-tantalite and crude columbium oxide with excess aluminium in the presence of lime.
