858,411. Fertiliser distributers. MASSEYFERGUSON Inc. Feb. 15, 1957 [Feb. 20, 1956], No. 5188/57. Class 6(1). A fertiliser distributer is provided with a hopper formed in two portions comprising a bottom trough 37 with discharge openings and longitudinally spaced lower part bearings 47 to support a feed shaft 55 and an upper portion 57 hinged to the bottom trough 37 and provided with upper part bearings 67 the arrangement being such that when the upper portion is secured in position the upper and lower part bearings co-operate to provide bearings for the shaft. As shown toothed wheels 92 are mounted on the shaft and feed material to openings 95 in discharge troughs 91 formed in the bottom of the trough 37. The effective size of the openings in the troughs is adjusted by means of a slidable plate 97 provided with holes.
