870,362. Machines for distributing fertilisers and other granular materials. WALLIS, G. L. Feb. 23, 1960 [Feb. 24,1959],No. 6331/59. Class 6(1). A fertiliser distributer comprising a wheeled hopper 1 having an opening closed by a metering and distributing roller 3 is provided with a rotatable tubular diffuser roller 5 which is apertured, slotted or otherwise formed with openings through which the material can pass to the interior of the roller and be subsequently thrown out on to the ground. As shown the roller 5 is driven by gearing 14 from the landwheel 2. Alternatively the roller 5 may be fitted with a friction roller which is driven by the inside rim of the wheel 2. Specification 772,200 is referred to.
