Abstract
834,114. Fertilizer distributers. BLACKSTONE & CO. Ltd. Dec. 2, 1958 [Dec. 2, 1957], No. 37526/57. Class 6(1). A machine for spreading materials, such as artificial fertilizers, of the kind in which material is delivered from a hopper 1 on to a spinner plate 4 on which are pivoted radial arms is characterized in that the spinner plate 4 is provided with inner and outer sets of spinner arms 13, 15a, 15b spaced to provide a circumferential gap 16 between the outer and inner arms and a vertically disposed guard plate 17 depending into this gap. The guard plate 17 extends forwardly of the centre line of the machine to prevent the material from being sprayed on to the tractor. The plate 4 is driven by gearing 7, 8 from underwheels and an agitator 10 is mounted within the hopper.
