856,850. Moulding plastic soles to footwear. MANUFACTURE D'ARTICLES MOULES MOGECO. Nov. 11, 1958 [Aug. 22, 1958], No. 36110/58. Class 87(2). [Also in Group VII] A sole 1 of plastic material, e.g. polyvinyl chloride or nylon, is injection moulded against the under-surface of an insole 4 and through perforations 7 formed near the periphery of the insole so as to provide an interlocking bond between it and the sole 1. Peripheral portions 5 of the mould which are superimposed over the insole periphery are formed with either discrete recesses 8 bridging two or more perforations, Fig. 2, or with a continuous groove-like recess. Further perforations, Fig. 4, may be formed in a flange 11 of the upper 10 so as to correspond with those in the insole 4 and thus provide an interlocking bond between the sole 1, insole 4, and upper 10.
