Abstract

856,675. Tool handle fixings. SIMMONDS AEROCESSORIES Ltd. June 15, 1959 [June 20, 1958], No. 19816/58. Class 61. A handle 1, Fig. 1 for a tool E1 such as a file made of sheet metal having a tubular or channel section, comprises an annular element 13 within which the cord of the tool is inserted and an inner member 12 which is caused to clamp the end of the tool against the inside face of the annular element 13. The member 13 may be of rubber which is compressed by a nut 13 held against rotation by finger 17 engaging a groove 7 in the element 13 and tightened by rotation of a threaded rod 4 secured in the handle 1. In modification (not shown) the rod 4 may be threaded in the handle 1 and have a bead engaging the rubber member 12. Alternatively the rod 4 projects through the handle 1 and has a recessed head for rotation by a screw-driver. Specification 695,830 is referred to.
