A screw-holding device comprises a cylindrical container 11 within which a small screw 20 may be inserted and retained by a spring pressed plunger 17. The container being secured to one end of a coil spring 13 which surrounds the screwdriver shank 15 the other end of the spring being secured to the end of the handle 14. The cylinder 11 is secured to the spring 13 by a set screw 12 which is arranged to bear on the shank 15 of the screwdriver to allow the container to be pushed back and clamped on the shank with the driver protruding.
