858,803. Handle fixings. LAWRENCE, A., and DRUMMOND, S. April 24, 1957 [May 28, 1956], No. 13004/57. Class 61. A device for attaching handles to the heads of brooms and other appliances of the kind in which a ferrule applied to the handle (not shown) carries an annular elastic member 12 which is inserted into the appliance head and expanded has coaxial threaded holes at either end of the ferrule to receive the end of the handle and a screw 10 which engages the elastic member 12 with its head 11 and passes through it into a cylindrical part 14 of the ferrule. A pressure worker 13 is inserted between the member 12 and the part 14. The part 14 has a conical bottom and tommy holes 16. The end of the ferrule which receives the handle has a conical thread 15.
