Abstract

579,025. Securing knobs on shafts. KIRKCALDY, J. Oct. 5, 1944, No. 19096. [Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Group XXV] A door handle 1 having a non-circular socket 6 is secured to a spindle 3 of polygonal section by outer and inner nuts 8, 9 respectively, threaded on a screwed extension 7 which is connected to the spindle 3 by a cross-pivot 12: The inner nut 9 has serrations 10 which bite into the material of the knob (which may be wood or synthetic resin) at an internal shoulder 11. The head 8a of the outer nut 8 engages an external shoulder 13 of the knob and is slotted to receive a screwdriver.
