[Class 44] A door handle set of the kind wherein the detachable handle is secured to the catchoperating spindle by a clamping-nut which presses the parts of a split socket on the handle into contact with the spindle, has an extension on the clamping-nut for guiding the handle in its escutcheon. A handle 1 having a square socket 3 for receiving a spindle 10 secured to the opposite handle, has a screwed end 4 slotted at 5 and provided with a coned end 6 which is engaged by a flange 9 on a nut 7 to tighten the split socket onto the spindle. The nut has a cylindrical portion 8 entering a hole in the escutcheon and axial movement may be prevented by a shoulder 8<1>.
