726,195. Door handles. SKELDINGS, Ltd.,. and ATLAS BRASSFOUNDRY (BIRMING- HAM), Ltd. Nov. 3, 1953 [Nov. 5, 1952], No. 27805/52. Class 44. [Also in Group XXIV] A means for securing a door knob or handle on the end of a spindle of the kind which is divided longitudinally into two complementary parts 4, 5 comprises, at one end of one part 4 of the spindle, an open-ended longitudinally extending slot 4a which is adapted to receive transversely a hardened screw-pin 8 which passes radially through an aperture in the shank of the knob or handle so as to cut a thread in the walls of the slot and impinge at its inner end against the complementary part 5 of the spindle. The screw pin 8 splays apart the spindle parts 4, 5 and also the legs of the slot to tightly grip the walls of an aperture in the knob.
