810,136. Spanners. DAVIES, R. W. May 6, 1957 [May 5, 1956], No. 13972/56. Class 61. An open yaw or ring spanner with interchangeable jaw heads comprises a jaw head a having sunk therein a recess b of hexagonal or other configuration which extends approximately midway through the head and is adapted for detachable engagement by the correspondingly shaped end C<SP>2</SP> of the handle C<SP>1</SP>. The handle may be straight or cranked at the end adjacent the head engaging portion. In a modification the handle is cranked adjacent to the hand engaging portion. A turn button or screw may be provided to prevent accidental detachment of the head.
