Abstract

849,567. Latches. HASSETT & HARPER Ltd., and HASSETT, J. B. Jan. 27, 1959 [Oct. 31, 1957], No. 33948/57. Class 44. Relates to a fastener of the type comprising a manually operable spring-loaded bolt 4 arranged for rectilinear movement in a bolt casing 5 adapted to be fitted to a door, the bolt and the casing having openings 7, 8 therein for reception of a relatively fixed catch member 9 to be secured to the door frame 10 or equivalent part of a cabinet in order that the catch member can snapengage the bolt. According to the invention, the bolt is provided at a position remote from its manually operable means 11 with a screw and nut adjusting device 27, 28, 29 acting between the bolt and the casing and accessible at the exterior of the latter for effecting rectilinear adjustment of the bolt in the casing. As shown, the bolt and the casing comprise sheet metal pressings and the bolt is provided with a roller 24 which snaps behind the catch member in the fastened position of the bolt. The manually operable means 11 is a press button.
