Abstract

840,264. Sliding bolts; hinges and pivots. DOHERTY & SON Ltd., J. Oct. 16, 1958 [Oct. 17, 1957], No. 32397/57. Classes 44 and 65(2). A sliding-bolt 11, for wardrobe, &c. doors, has a roller 13 which is journalled on an extension 10 thereof and is engageable with a recess in a door-frame 16. The roller 13 is recessed at 13a and is retained on the extension 10 by a riveted, &c. washer 14. The bolt 11 has an integral collar 12 and is slidably mounted in an assembly-plate 1 having a flange 2 apertured to receive the said collar, and the bolt is guided by a tube 8 attached to the plate 1. The bolt is urged into an engaged position by a spring 9 in the tube 8 and is moved from this position by a knob 15a of a pin 15 attached to the collar 12, the knob being slidable in a longitudinal slot 6 in the plate 1 having an acute-angled extension 7 which, on retracting the bolt, receives the knob so as to retain the bolt in the disengaged position. The rollers are made of nylon or other non-metallic material. The plate 1 is attached to the door by screws passing through holes therein.
