689,336. Door holders, bolts. WINNIKOW, S. Nov. 16, 1950 [Jan. 1, 1950], No. 28078/50. Classes 44 and 65 (i) A door holder in which the shaft 3 (Fig. 1) of the door handle 4a is provided with a lateral arm 4 connected to a bolt which is raised and lowered with respect to the floor when the handle is actuated, is characterized in that the arm is arranged within a lock casing 1 and is connected to the bolt by a slidable bar 6 located behind the plate 7 closing the lock casing, which plate is prolonged downwardly towards the floor. The bar, which is flat is pivoted at its upper end to the arm and at its lower end to the bolt which is cylindrical and is guided within apertured plates carried by the plate 7. The bolt may be tipped with rubber, and in the closed position of the door it enters a recess in the floor. In a modification (Fig. 5), a slot 13 in the bar and a pin 12 carried by the bolt 14 constitute a lost motion connection for reducing the movement of the bolt when the handle is actuated. The floor recess need not then be provided. The bolt is guided in apertured plates 14a, 14b, 14c, and is urged downwardly by a spring 16.
