Abstract

912,111. Latches. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. June 28, 1961 [June 30, 1960], No. 23368/61. Class 44. A vehicle door latch mechanism actuating device comprises a member 17 adapted to be secured to an exterior surface of a door panel, the member 17 having a push-button housing 21 adapted to project through an opening in the door panel, a push-button 23 slidably mounted within the housing 21 and outwardly spring- urged, the push button having a manually engageable end portion projecting from the outer lid and a stem 28 projecting from the inner end of the housing 21 through spring retention means 31 secured to the inner end of the housing, support elements 39 on the retention means, and a bell crank 38 pivoted between the support elements 39, the bell crank 38 having a portion 43 engageable with the pushbutton stem 28 for operation thereby and a linkreceiving portion 41 for connection to a latch mechanism element to be actuated upon inward movement of the push button 23. As shown, the retention means 31 consists of a plate secured by a screw 36 to the inner end of the housing 21 and supporting the adjacent end of the stem 28; side flanges on the plate constitute the support elements 39 for the bell crank 38.
