840,085. Trueing grinding wheels. STRUNCK, H. J. Feb. 3, 1959 [Feb. 6, 1958], No. 3750/59. Class 60. A device for trueing grinding wheels, particularly those used for bevel-grinding the edges of spectacle lenses, comprises a member 18 which carries a diamond trueing tool 21, is traversed by a screwed spindle 9, and is held by springs 14 in contact with an appropriately-profiled bar 24. The member 18, in the form of a cover plate on a casing 1, is provided with a guidepin 19 on its underside which engages a slot 16 formed in an upward projection of a nut 11 traversed on the spindle 9. Further guide-pins 22, 23 also project downwards from the plate 18 to engage under spring-tension the bar 24 which is provided with recesses 25 corresponding to the shape of the groove in the face of the grinding wheel. The nut 11 is guided by a projection 17 which slides along the bar 24 as it is traversed by a handle 10 on the screwed spindle. The device is clamped to a guide-rail of the machine having the grinding wheel to be trued, the clamping means taking the form of a nut on a screwed spindle 5 which provides a bearing for one end of a screwed spindle 9.
