561,487. Internal grinding machines. BRYANT CHUCKING GRINDER CO. Aug. 11, 1941, No. 20551/43. Convention date, Aug. 13, 1940. Divided out of 560,927. [Class 60] An internal grinding machine comprises work and grinding wheel supports which can be relatively traversed within a working range and beyond it to a trueing range, the wheel spindle carrying one of a number of grinding wheels located at different lengthwise positions and the relationship between the work and wheel, laterally of the traverse, being controlled by a number of templets carried by one support and engaging followers on the other foreffecting both the grinding and trueing operations. The machine comprises a work support 2, Fig. 1, and an axially movable wheel carrier 3 which rocks about a control bar 4 and has an extension 5, Fig. 2, resting by gravity against feed controls consisting of two templets 131, 135 engaged by followers 130, 136 on feed bars 30, 33 operated either by hand or automatically. The work 100, Fig. 4, has tapers 101... 104 of varying slope and is ground.by fitting in turn a grinding wheel 111, Fig. 8, with a short stem and a wheel 106, Fig. 7, having a longer stem 121.
