Abstract

559,604. Centreless grinding. CHURCHILL MACHINE TOOL CO., Ltd., and LONGTHORPE, H. Oct. 14, 1942, No. 14418. [Class 60] Means are provided for reciprocating the workpieces fixed but adjustable distances so that shoulders thereon will be brought against the side of the wheel which may comprise spaced parts of different diameter and contour. The wheels a, a<SP>1</SP>, a<SP>2</SP>, Fig. 1 and regulating wheels b, b<SP>1</SP>, b are set at an angle to one another and the workpiece x having shoulders g, h, i is reciprocated by a stop c which, as shown in Fig. 6, is operated by a hand-lever d against spring pressure. The wheel parts a, a<SP>1</SP>, a<SP>2</SP> may have a curved, or conically shaped contour.
